The best way I can describe it is that Himalayan Yoga Bliss in Darjeeling is PURE MAGIC!!!! The center is located in a very quiet, safe, residential area in Darjeeling Hills (where you can see the actual mountains right outside the studio windows) and walking distance from unbelievable temples, restaurants and shops in town. The food was FANTASTIC -Paulden is the most joyful and talented chef! Some of the friendliest people, best masala chai, and incredible momos are right down the street from the studio as well! I live in Los Angeles and had been forewarned before coming here that many centers around the world offer yoga teacher training courses, but really the experience ends up being a mini-vacation with some teaching at the very end. From Day 1 of YTT here we started teaching each other! Our instructors took us through very detailed and descriptive explanations of postures to help us best verbally instruct students, and we progressively increased the number of poses, variations, and length of classes we taught. By the end of the TTC I had practiced teaching so much that I felt completely confident in my ability to teach yoga to strangers of any level! The experience here was truly life-changing. Our group bonded in a way I could not have even imagined, and we became a family -supporting each other, challenging each other, helping each other achieve our goals. I felt so empowered by the incredible teachers and yogis here, and the vibe of being in the Himalayas is unlike anything I have ever felt in my life. This training incorporated Indian traditions, immersed us into a vibrant new culture, encouraged us to experience a lifestyle of simplicity and positivity just like the original yogis did, and helped each and every one of us open our hearts and minds to love and endless possibilities. I cannot thank Sonam and Himalayan Yoga Bliss enough for allowing me the honor of that incredible journey. Highly recommend and will most definitely be returning!!!

If you want to become yoga teacher Himalayan Yoga Bliss is so much more than a yoga school. I was so lucky to have chosen this and not any other yoga school in India for my 200 hour YTTC. Can’t speak highly enough about amazing Sonam - founder and director of Himalayan Yoga Bliss - she is what makes this school extraordinary, inspiring and incredible. During the month of the training in Goa you begin to understand the true depth of yoga practice through fascinating philosophy classes, unique meditations and high level asana classes with the team of skilled teachers guiding each student with individual approach, care and attention. Excellent Curriculum allowing students to feel confident enough to teach immediately after graduation. I came back with so much more than I hoped for. The school definitely exceeded my expectations and the experience of a lifetime was so enriching in all dimensions. I’ve grown so much. Feeling grateful. Definitely recommend, Definitely coming back.

I did my 200h Mixed-Styled TTC in Darjeeling with Sonam and her handpicked 😉 amazing teacher team! I wanted to say thank you for this beautiful and enriching experiences! In my eyes, this beautiful small school offers the best concept of organizing a TTC - the classes are super small (max 15) which enables the teachers to acknowledge each students individual needs and allows time for individual questions & discussions. - the yogic knowledge is so wast and there is so many sides to it, and the HYB managed to pick a very special and useful selection of this knowledge - including an expeptionally intensive & wast part concerning asanas, alignments and adjustments, a beautiful philosophy class, and loads and loads of tips and tricks concerning the art of teaching. These are in the focus, but we also learned about anatomy, ayurveda, and a lot more. During my Time in Darjeeling the team and the concept of the school made us students all feel like a little family, it was really beautiful. Somehow they managed not only to give us as much of their yogic superpowers as possible, but also to foster our personal growth. It was really a magical time which Im very very thankful for. you'll always be in my heart!

The month I spent at Himalayan Yoga Bliss in Darjeeling was an incredible experience. I came away from my time there with a holistic view of what it means to walk along the path of yoga. It brought to life the ancient traditions and practices as well as showing us how these practices could be absorbed in to our daily lives. We were extremely well looked after throughout the trip which is important as it isn’t always a walk in the park! As you venture deeper in to the practices many emotions and experiences come up and it was comforting to have experienced yogi’s around us to guide the way and allay any fears. I particularly enjoyed our philosophy classes and the silent walks we took in the woods and mountains in the surrounding areas. There were also some wonderful active meditations and an opportunity for some one to one spiritual counselling which I know everyone found insightful. Sonam, who runs the program, is a true gem and I came to value her insight and understanding of the practices. We are still in touch and she continues to guide me on this beautiful path!

I wanted to become a yoga teacher, and I could not have imagined a more meaningful and comprehensive training program. I learned a very broad array of yogic principles and practices and had opportunities to deepen my understanding of things I'd been exposed to prior. I've been practicing yoga for approx 10 years, and think I probably got as much or more out of my 200-hr training as those who were somewhat new to yoga. The way the information was organized gave a very broad and well-thought-out program for newer practitioners while also giving those more experienced increased depth. I came into the program with a lot of questions around why teachers commonly do particular things in yoga classes - saying sanskrit terms (which I thought was useless), chanting and "Om"ing, etc. I came away with answers to all of these and am excited to share with students the significance of these practices, rather than having people go through the motions. The studio was amazing. It is near the top of a Himalayan foothill with 180 degress of glass facing out into a large Darjeeling valley and overlooking the world's third tallest mountain. This program was perfect for me - I came to India to learn as much as possible during my month here, and Himalayan Yoga Bliss, Sonam and Mahadeva were awesome and incredibly knowledgeable. I can't imagine having done it somewhere else. I should mention that I don't think this is a training program for those interested in drinking/going out. We had a lot of opportunities to go out to dinner and explore (I even ate enough momos to rank fifteen of Darjeeling's momo restaurants - yeah, I'm a dork), but it seemed everyone there came to learn and practice yoga. We had plenty of time to socialize and get close to each other, and the group really helped each other along to maximize our experiences. I thought I was more-or-less checking a box to get my certification and didn't expect to be personally challenged in so many positive ways. I left the program completely ready to teach. I'm grateful for the experience.

In February 2018 I completed my YTT200 with Himalayan Yoga Bliss, in Goa. I genuinely couldn't recommend doing your Yoga Teachers training here enough. I was very new to the asana side of Yoga and felt slightly nervous going into it, feeling aware that people may be at different levels in flexibility and strength. I soon learnt this there was nothing to feel nervous about - everyone was on different journeys and that was very much respected. The energy that was created right from the opening Ceremony was so special, there was such an amazing level of support and guidance throughout the whole month, from all the amazing teacher, lead by Sonam. I couldn't have wished for a more knowledgeable, wise, supportive, intuitive and capable teacher than Sonam. Sonam always came from such a balanced, centred place it was so assuring in the more challenging moments of the training! How the course was structured, was so well thought out. Every week had a feeling of building confidence and knowledge , to led you on to the next week. They have all the facilities and practical side of things so well organised. From the food, to the accommodation and teachers, I couldn’t have asked for a more balanced, well structured, supportive experience. If you are thinking of doing your TTC in India, this is the place to do it! I will always cherish our month there!--

The 200h YTT felt not only like a usual yoga teacher training, it was like a general horizon extension. Through deeper insights into the philosophy of yoga, and all that is part of it, you get encouraged to look at things from a different point of view (without being forced). This can be very helpful for all decisions in life. The teachers of the YTT understood how to convey the spirit of yoga, beyond a commercial interpretation. An example of this is the extras (which are not listed anywhere in the program) which we got on request and free of charge. These included activities or expeditions to temples, private consultations, visits of a healer, and so on .... Everywhere, it was noticeable that there is a lot of love behind the concept of the Himalayan Yoga Bliss Center. In addition, the quiet and magical Himalaya is the perfect place to center yourself. As a yoga beginner (only 2 months yoga experience before) the YTT was not easy for me, but still possible to absolve 😉 You have to prepare yourself for sore muscles 😀 Now I am able to teach yoga lessons in Germany and I am glad to have learned in such a lovely place ❤️

I attended the 200h YTTC Himalayan Yoga Bliss in Goa and I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. Our teachers Sonam, Saravan and Lauriane were very present and engaged. They shared a lot of their individual expertise and worked personally with every single student, which was very valuable and which honestly exceeded my expectation. Sonam the founder of HYB is a lovingly and wise woman with wonderful aura. She gave us such insight and mindfulness through the whole month. Half a year after the course I am still wondering "What would Sonam say?", when I encounter difficulties in my everyday life. I am so thankful that I could take a lot from this time at HYB. The course scheduling was good and adapted to our needs. Even though it was very hard for me at the beginning to get up at 5 am - waking up with the birds and monkeys in the jungle, the morning meditation and chanting in the shala was magic. The location is beautiful and calm in the middle of the jungle but not far to the beach (approx. 5 minutes with Rickshaw). The family running the "Blue Planet" are very welcoming, caring and hardworking. The food (especially lunch! 🙂 was outstanding good and adapted to our needs. I can highly recommend to attend YTTC at Himalayan Yoga Bliss in good conscience.

Before arriving to Darjeeling my knowledge of Yoga was extremely limited so I sought an authentic place to acquire ancient knowledge and found it at Himalayan Yoga Bliss' Yoga teacher training program. The first thing I learned was that Yoga was not in fact a series of physical postures as I had learned in the West, but a profound philosophy for living a blissful life. Yoga is a powerful tool to overcome sorrow. It is the Science of the Soul. Words will forever fail to express how much gratitude, love, and respect I have for Sonam Ji the Guru and founder of the studio. She and all of the amazing teachers truly walk the path of light. It was an honor to be taught by them. If you seek a profound life-altering experience, regardless of whether you want to teach Yoga or simply discover more about yourself, I assure you, look no further and book your reservation for Himalayan Yoga Bliss YTT. Sonam Ji is a true Guru who shines like the sun at midday. She is a master of the art of Yoga, but too humble to admit so I will speak for her. Her knowledge of this Universe is nothing short of incredible. She is a rare soul. Good luck on your journey. Namaste. ॐ

I just returned home from a 300 hour Teacher Training and had an excellent overall experience. The studio and surrounding area has a beautiful view of the Himalayan Mountains. Darjeeling maintains a small town feel despite is significant growth over the recent years. I found the staff and teachers to be very kind, knowledgeable and accommodating. Part of the yoga practice includes basic living standards, so as long as one comes with simple expectations and an open mind I can't imagine that it would not be a wonderful opportunity for anyone interested in self growth and looking for a deeper understanding of what yoga is all about.
